She/Her/Hers

I could use this little time that I have to grab your attention with the generic bullet points; where I’m from, where I currently live, what awards I have won and where I’ve shown, and how nature inspires me but would you know me? Instead, let me share with you a little more so that I am may not be empty…

I give too much of myself to others and keep too little; it’s hard not to be consumed by the weight of the world’s sadness and beauty. Yet, I seek solace in fleeting moments—the scent of a flower on my walk to the studio, the pure joy in my nephews’ eyes as they share their small wonders with me. When I was five, I stared into the mirror, tears streaming down, longing for a future I couldn’t yet understand. Now, I ache for that child who sprinted into adulthood too soon. I overthink social interaction, replaying moments until they blur into anxiety, but in the quiet of my studio, I find peace. Art is where I breathe, where the noise quiets, and where joy spills freely from my hands. I believe that feeling deeply is a gift, and art is the language through which I share that gift with the world. This is my art and it is for me as it is for you. I hope my work stirs something within you, leaving an echo that lingers long after.
